PCTs play an important function as members of the healthcare team. The program is designed to educate and train individuals to function as nursing support personnel and by the virtue of their training, they are placed above the level of certified nursing assistants, but below the level of vocational nurses.

Requirements
Provide proof of completion of 8th Grade (transcript, diploma, home-schooling affidavit or other official documentation indicating completion of 8th grade or 8th-grade equivalent)
Provide proof of being at least 16 years of age (drivers license)
Not be listed as unemployable on the Employee Misconduct Registry (EMR)
Not have been convicted of a criminal offense listed in the Texas Health and Safety Code §250.00
Outcomes
How to help nurses keep patients comfortable and healthy.
How to provide daily care for patients.
Assist with taking vital signs, helping to move patients around a clinic, etc.
