The Nurse Aide Training Program prepares students for an entry-level job as a nurse aide in long-term care facilities and hospitals. Students will learn how to provide basic nursing care to residents and learn how to communicate effectively based on the psycho-social needs of residents and their families. Students will acquire the skills necessary to assist residents in attaining and maintaining maximum functional independence. Students learn how to protect, support and promote the rights of residents and how to apply safety and preventative measures in the care of residents. Additionally, they learn to function as an integral member of the healthcare team and will be able to describe how their skills and observations contribute to the overall health care system for long-term care facility residents.
The $700 covers tuition, Book and uniform. If a payment plan is necessary, we require a $200 deposit at the time of registration. The remaining balance can then be made in payments up until your graduation date.
Classes begin on the first Monday of each month and the course is a total of 4 weeks. We offer both mornings from 9 AM to 2 PM and evenings from 5 PM to 10 PM. Classes are held on Mon, Wed, and Fri of every week. Clinical training will be held on Sat. and Sun. from about 7 AM to 1 PM Due to Covid-19 Clinical have been postpone till further notice.
Class Hours:
Morning Classes: 9 AM to 2 PM
Evening Classes: 5 PM to 10 PM
The State Testing Fee is $125 or $135 for Spanish test and the student pays directly to the state.
Students will need a current CPR certification during the clinical training at the nursing home or for applying to health care jobs. The cost of the CPR training is $50 CASH ONLY.
You will also need a TB Test clearance before beginning your clinical rotation.
